| 1. How to confirm the types of your equipment, X+? X? or other type? |
A. X+ type(EM2027 series, last number of serial number is "X+"), supported interface types: USB-DataPipe, USB Com Port Emuation, HID-KBW,RS232.
X type(EM2100 series,last number of serial Number is "X"), supported interface types: USB-DataPipe, USB Com Port Emuation, HID-KBW,RS232. |
| 2. How to confirm whether the driver has been installed successfully? |
A. First, confirm the equipment had connected to PC and the equipment operating normally.
Open: Control Panel> Device Manager> Universal Serial Bus Controller,
If there is "Newland USB Datapipe to series Device" said connection is "USB Com Port Emuation"--COM.
If there is "Newland USB DataPipe Device" said connection is "USB-DataPipe".
If there is yellow "!" before the equipment, delete the equipment, and then scan detection hardware changes, Wait for the system to automatically install the new drivers finished. |
| 3. Whether it is necessary upgrade the driver of USB-Datapipe from the old version to the new v1.2 USB driver (vcomctrl v1.2.exe)? |
| A. The new driver support USB Interface of X+ : USB-DataPipe/ USB Com Port Emuation/HID-KBW. If the users of X series, had developed their own application through the USB SDK, recommendations are not updated to the latest driver. |
| 4. If you have installed v1.2 USB driver, how to connect by USB-Datapipe? |
| A. If your equipment is X+ series, read the set code of USB-Datapipe.(You can download The Manual of Settings Code free from this website.) If your equipment is X series, first you should close USB to COM serve, open Control Panel> Tools> Services, find "Bulk to Serial service", select properties: select stop, Startup Type: Manual. |
| 5. After installed the new driver, how to find out the COM port corresponding to the USB Com Port Emuation? |
| A. Open Start> all the procedures>vcomctrl>vcomctrl, you can find the number of the COM port there. |
| 6. Why QuickSet can not connect the equipment through USB after installed v1.2 driver? |
A. Confirm FAQ-1 driver has installed correctly --> Check out the number of COM port of FAQ-4 --> Confirmed equipment has been launched. Open the Quickset, select the right COM port,manual detection. If the detection failed, you can choose one of the following ways to solve the problem:
i.Check out whether swich to HID-KBW and have set Non-HID-KBW when read The Manual of Settings Code. Change and connect it again.
ii. If it connect through COM before, open "File>PC comm... > USB>OK" in Quickset, try whether it work.
iii. Close Quickset, close connection then open Control Panel> Tools> Services, find "Bulk to Serial service", select properties: select stop, and then start it again.
Connect the equipment, open Quickset, try connection through COM.
iv. Close Quickset, close connection. Reboot the equipment, open Quickset, connect it again. |
